G’day world – Dan here and I learned something new today about how easily cell
phones can be hacked. This concerned me as I know how many of our clients keep
personal information on smartphones.
I am sure I don’t have to tell you that our cell phones are now becoming the new way for
hackers to get our personal information. I read this article recently that revealed some
warning signs that our smartphones are being hacked; background noise, sudden issues with
battery life, increase in data usage, or suspicious downloads are a few signs.
If you think your mobile device has been hacked, wipe your device and restore factory
defaults. Only reinstall apps from trusted sources (Google Play, iTunes). To avoid it happening
again make sure to keep your smartphone OS updated regularly and be careful using public
Wi-Fi.
